Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 25, 2026

ApertureOps ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

1. Information We Collect

Account information: When you register, we collect your email address and a securely hashed password. We do not store your password in plain text.

Business data: All data you enter into ApertureOps — projects, clients, invoices, contracts, bookings, expenses, and settings — is stored in your account and is yours. We do not sell or share this data with third parties for marketing purposes.

Media files: Photos and videos you upload are stored in ApertureOps Cloud (private cloud storage). Files are accessible only to you and recipients of delivery links you explicitly create.

Usage data: We may collect anonymized usage information (feature usage counts, error logs) to improve the platform. This data is not linked to your identity.

Payment information: Billing is handled entirely by Stripe. ApertureOps never sees or stores your full credit card number. We receive only a payment confirmation and masked card details from Stripe.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to: provide and operate the ApertureOps platform; process your subscription and send billing receipts; send transactional emails (e.g., password resets, account notifications); respond to support requests; and improve the platform based on aggregated usage patterns. We do not use your data to train AI models or sell it to advertisers.

3. Data Storage & Security

Your account data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted by Supabase on AWS infrastructure (US East region). Row-level security policies ensure your data is accessible only to your account. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256). Media files are stored in ApertureOps Cloud using S3-compatible object storage with private access controls.

A copy of your data is cached in your browser's localStorage for performance. This cache is cleared when you sign out and is never transmitted to third parties.

4. Third-Party Services

ApertureOps uses the following third-party services to operate the platform:

We do not share your personal data with any other third parties except as required by law.

5. Data Retention

Your account data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your data is permanently removed from our database within 30 days. Media files in ApertureOps Cloud are deleted upon account deletion or when you manually remove them. You can export a full backup of your data at any time via Settings → Download Backup.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to: access all data associated with your account (via the app or by requesting a backup); correct inaccurate data; delete your account and all associated data; and data portability (export your data at any time). If you are located in the EU/EEA, you also have rights under the GDPR including the right to restrict processing and to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. California residents have additional rights under the CCPA. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@apertureops.app.

7. Cookies & Local Storage

ApertureOps does not use tracking cookies or advertising cookies. We use browser localStorage solely to cache your business data for performance and offline resilience. This data never leaves your device except when syncing with your account. We do not use analytics tools that track you across websites.

8. Children's Privacy

ApertureOps is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we will promptly delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify active users of material changes by email at least 14 days before they take effect. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
